A content management system (CMS) is a web application which lets users created, edit, and organize content without programming.

There are hundreds of open and closed source content management systems. A few of the more popular include:
- Drupal
- Plone
- WordPress - Popular mostly for blogging
- Joomla - Popular Open-Source CMS system with many commerical plugins and themes (called "templates"). It was formerly known as Mambo.
